Send Nudes – A Review

Send Nudes by Saba Sam’s  4 Stars

Send nudes consists of 10 short stories following girls and women of a variety of ages. All experiencing a different part of womanhood. These short stories focus on themes of abortion, grouping up with out a mother figure, body image and identity, growing up in the Foster system and Parent separation.

I really enjoyed these short stories, they were lighthearted, informative and sometimes funny. They felt as if they were little snippets of someone’s life and you’re just watching from behind the scenes.

HeartStopper Vol. 1

Heartstopper by Alice Osman

Heartstopper is the first installment of the heartstopper series, which follows the beginning of the relationship between Nick and Charlie.

Heartstopper focuses on real-life issues of being confused about your sexuality and bullying. I love how the graphic novel explored Nick coming to terms with his sexuality, you can see the inner turmoil he is facing due to being popular, whereas Charlie is open about his sexuality, despite the older kids always referring to him as “he’s gay” and the childish opinions of “you can’t be good a sport if your gay”. I did find that to be rather childish, but then they are students in the last years of the GCSE, so they’re bound to be a bit childish.

I really enjoyed the art style and the simple storyline, it was easy to read and follow, and you were invested in the relationship that is slowly growing between Charlie and Nick. I also love to grow my collection of LGBTQIA+ representation media.
